UPMC Altoona Names Vice President of Operations
ALTOONA, Pa., Dec. 12, 2016 — UPMC Altoona President Jerry Murray is pleased to announce the promotion of Michael Corso of Altoona to Vice President of Operations.
During his 23-year career in health care, Corso advanced and received increased responsibilities in many areas. His was hired in 1994 as a Planning Analyst at the former Mercy Hospital. Upon its merger with Altoona Hospital in 2004, Corso became director of Imaging Services and was promoted to Executive Director in 2011. He remains responsible for the oversight of Radiology, Cardiology, Radiation Oncology, Respiratory, the Breast Health Center and Physical Medicine.
With his promotion to vice president, Corso retains these areas of responsibility and gains administrative oversight of UPMC Altoona’s Heart and Vascular Institute.
Corso received a master’s degree in business administration from Saint Francis University, Loretto, in 2001 and a bachelor’s degree in Health Policy Administration from Pennsylvania State University.
