Area Women Invited to Health and Wellness Fair May 10
ALTOONA, Pa., May 3, 2017 — Women of all ages are invited to attend the 2017 UPMC Altoona Health and Wellness Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 10 at UPMC Altoona Station Medical Center.
“The annual Women’s Health and Wellness event covers all aspects of wellness for women, who tend to put their needs behind everyone else’s in the family,” said Dana Shade, Community Education Coordinator, UPMC Altoona. “We will have health professionals offering pointers for better physical and mental wellness, as well as alternative health practices, such as Reiki and yoga.”
UPMC Altoona departments will have information available on the following topics:
“UPMC Altoona has collaborated with Blair Gastroenterology Associates of Altoona to help increase the rate of colon screenings for area residents,” said Anita Grimes, R.N., who is co-chairing the effort to increase colon cancer prevention efforts as part of the “80 Percent by 2018” campaign.
In addition to the giant, walk-through colon, UPMC and Blair Gastroenterology Associates of Altoona will have information on digestive health, prevention, screening options and treatment information on various bowel diseases, especially colon wellness.
