Pastoral Care

Department of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Service Home

Pastoral Care is an integral part of Altoona Regional Health System. The department provides pastoral/spiritual care on a 24/7 basis. Pastoral Care serves as a member of the trauma team and responds to all trauma codes or alerts, including code blue, patient deaths, crisis or any situation deemed necessary.

The Director of Pastoral Care, Pastor Talbot-Moses, along with five full-time chaplains and several chaplains that serve on an on-call basis, staff the department. They provide emotional and spiritual support to patients, families and staff. In addition, Pastoral Care provides support to hospitalized patients from admission to discharge.
