EMS education for health professionals is available. Courses available include:
  • Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS)
  • Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS)
  • Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
  • Quarterly Skills Verification Labs
  • EMS Skills Lab
  • Grand Rounds
  • Spring and fall trauma symposiums
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course - This is a 130 hour course. Successful completion allows the candidate to test for Pennsylvania state certification as an EMT, qualifying the individual to pursue membership with an ambulance service. Students will learn rapid intervention in trauma and emergency medical situations. The course is divided into seven modules: preparing to be an EMT; airway; patient assessment; medical emergencies; trauma; special populations; and operations.
