Department of Trauma Service
We are more than just an Emergency Room!
Altoona Regional's Department of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Service provides patients with the best possible quality of care when seconds and minutes matter the most.
Our physicians are board certified in Emergency Medicine and share their expertise with local Emergency Medical Service providers through various training classes and emergency preparedness exercises. Altoona Regional's goal is to provide lifesaving care from the scene of an accident through the hospital setting. Medics, paramedics, critical care nurses, radiology and laboratory technicians, emergency medicine physicians, and trauma surgeons and other specialty surgeons create a multidisciplinary care team created to handle the most complex and life-threatening of injuries and illnesses.
