Help us help you stay safe

The staff at Altoona Regional wants you to be safe while you are in the hospital. Preventing a fall is the key to a safe hospital visit.

Please slow down

Tell your nurse if you have fallen before

Some people fall more often and we need to know how to keep you safe

Ring your call bell to call the nurse before getting out of bed

Your family and visitors should talk to the nurse before helping you out of bed

Wear slippers with non-skid soles

Change your position and move slowly

A fall prevention sign, represented by the symbol of a leaf, may be outside your room to notify staff members that you may need help to get out of bed and to move safely. This helps us help you stay safe.
