Bariatric Surgery Center: Support Group

Altoona Regional offers informational sessions and support group meetings for the gastric bypass and lap band patients.

Information sessions with the surgeon must be scheduled as follows:

For Dr. Newlin, contact 943-7040 and ask for Karen.

For Dr. Schmidt, contact 943-4937 and ask for Diane.

Support Groups sessions are:

• Gastric bypass - First Wednesday, 6 p.m., Juniata Room, located on the 6th floor of the Outpatient Center at the Altoona Hospital Campus.


• Lapband - First Wednesday, 6 p.m., Logan Room, located on the 6th floor of the Outpatient Center at the Altoona Hospital Campus.
