Altoona Regional offers informational sessions and support group meetings for the gastric bypass and lap band patients.

Information sessions with the surgeon must be scheduled as follows:

For Dr. Newlin and Currie, contact 943-7040 and ask for Karen.

For Dr. Schmidt, contact 943-4937 and ask for Diane.

Support Groups sessions are:

• Gastric bypass and Lapband - First Wednesday, 6 p.m., Altoona Hospital Campus. Please call Dona Baughman for location and with questions about the support group: 889-2350.
