Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) Survey
The survey was developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) — both part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The survey is intended to provide a standard way of collecting information about patients' perspectives on hospital care. You can view our HCAHPS scores and compare our performance against any other hospital in the country.
PHC4 Hospital Performance Report
This report is on the quality of hospital services and includes hospital-specific information about patients admitted for common medical procedures and treatments. Included are risk-adjusted measures of mortality, average lengths of hospitalization, length of stay outlier rates and ratings, readmission ratings for any reason and for complication/infection, and regionally adjusted average hospital charges. Compare our performance on 31 common medical conditions and treatments against other Pennsylvania hospitals.
PHC4 Hospital-acquired Infections in Pennsylvania Report
The report includes information on infections that patients contracted while in the hospital. Compare our infection rates against other hospitals in the state. For comparison purposes, this report also includes the number and rate of hospital-acquired infections.

QualityBLUE Hospital Quality Performance Program
Altoona Regional received a grade of 98% from Highmark Quality Blue for successful completion of infection control/patient safety projects. The Quality Performance Program aims to improve patient care and safety across Highmark's hospital networks through participation in a number of innovative initiatives including preventing hospital infections, improving surgical care and advancing stroke and cardiac event care.
