Caring Hearts Campaign
Foundation campaign allows grateful patients and families to say thank-you and help newborns.
Compassionate health care is a real comfort during difficult times. Through the Caring Hearts Campaign, you can now honor your medical professionals, support staff and volunteers for the extra dose of caring they have provided to you or a loved one. Groups and organizations may participate, too. In addition to an expression of gratitude, your support is a tangible display of the value you place on health care as a community asset and will be used to benefit Altoona Regional patients — your loved ones, friends and neighbors. Please use the donor form provided to support the Foundation's Caring Heart Campaign. The Caring Hearts Campaign runs through observances such as Doctor's Day, National Volunteer Week, Administrative Professionals Day and Nurses Week, and will conclude following National Hospital Week, May 11-17. Donations received by May 17 will be recognized by a display at both hospital campuses and inside an upcoming issue of Healthy Living Magazine. Public recognition For a suggested minimum donation of $25, the person or department being recognized will receive a "thank-you" letter for their excellent service. Proceeds from this fund-raiser will be used to purchase a new security system for the Maternity department. "While our current security system on Maternity is functional, the technology needs to be upgraded," said Sharon Roscia, administrative director for Maternity. "The new system costs about $80,000, but how do you put a price on the safety of a single newborn?" Friends of Altoona Regional, the system's auxiliary, has pledged to undertake this very worthy project. The Foundation for Life is pleased to join them in this effort. For over 100 years, the auxiliary has provided significant financial aid to the health system. For more information, please call the Foundation for Life Office at (814) 889-6406.
